Joint Assessment Mission to Review Alcohol Control Policy and Strategy in Thailand

Dr. Orratai Waleewong and Dr. Surasak Chaiyasong from Health Promotion Policy Research Center (HPR), International Health Policy Program (IHPP), were invited to attend the Joint Assessment Mission to Review Alcohol Policy and Strategy in Thailand on 20^th -24^th  January 2020 as a member of the Technical Coordinating Committee and the national expert team.

The Joint Assessment Mission to Review Alcohol Policy and Strategy in Thailand Participants was conducted with collaboration between the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Public Health and supported by WHO Country Cooperation Strategy on Non-communicable diseases (CCS-NCD).

The Mission drawn from domestic and global health professionals with expertise in alcohol control came together at the request of the government of Thailand to accomplish the following objectives: (1) to assess progress in implementing of the Thailand National Alcohol Strategy 2011-2020, with a focus on WHO SAFER initiative; (2) to identify strengths, opportunities, limitations and threats with the aim of strengthening the national alcohol control system and guiding the development of the new national alcohol control policy/strategy; and (3) to develop evidence-based recommendations to strengthen the national response to the alcohol burden with specific inputs for the new national alcohol control policy.

The Mission reviewed relevant documents and legislation, interviewed and received briefings from key stakeholders both within and outside of government, examined alcohol control activities at both national and provincial levels; and presented the findings and policy recommendations to key policy stakeholders at the Government House.

Special speaker on the 2^nd National Forum on AMR, February 20^th–21^st 2020 at the Rama Garden hotel, Grand Ballroom, Bangkok.

On February 20th, 2020, Dr. Viroj Tangcharoensathien, Dr. Sunicha Chanvatik and Dr. Supapat Kirivan participated in the 2nd National Forum on AMR and gave a speech on the topic “Connecting the dots: Aligning evidence to policy I: Health Policy and Systems Research on AMR (HPSR-AMR)”  and  “Trends of AMR situations, antimicrobial consumption and public awareness on AMR” at the Rama Garden hotel, Grand Ballroom, Bangkok.

The 2-day forum was held during February 20th–21st 2020 with the aims of facilitating and strengthening multi-sectoral collaboration and practical actions under the One Health approach to support the implementation of Thailand’s NSP-AMR 2017-2021.

With a short, but motivating speech, Dr. Viroj Tangcharoensathien aimed to introduce Thai working group on Health Policy and Systems Research on Antimicrobial Resistance (HPSR-AMR) and their roles in tackling antimicrobial resistance. This working group consisted of more than 50 multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral researchers using the One Health approach to strengthen and sustain the existing monitoring and evaluation platforms for the NSP-AMR 2017-2021.

The presentation on the topic “Trends of AMR situations, antimicrobial consumption and public awareness on AMR” aimed to report progress of 3 of 5 Goals’ NSP-AMR. The three goals in the presentation were 20% reduction of antimicrobial consumption in humans, 30% reduction of antimicrobial consumption in animals, and20% increase in public knowledge on AMR and awareness of appropriate use of antimicrobials by 2021.

เมื่อวันที่ 20 กุมภาพันธ์ 2563 ที่ผ่านมา ดร.นพ.วิโรจน์ ตั้งเจริญเสถียร สพ.ญ.สุณิชา  ชานวาทิก และ น.สพ.ศุภภัทร  คีรีวรรณ ได้เข้าร่วมงานและเป็นวิทยากรใน “งานประชุมระดับชาติว่าด้วยเรื่องการดื้อยาต้านจุลชีพ ครั้งที่ 2” ภายใต้หัวข้อ “Connecting the dots: Aligning evidence to policy I: คณะทำงานวิจัยนโยบายและระบบสุขภาพเรื่องเชื้อดื้อยาต้านจุลชีพของประเทศไทย (HPSR-AMR)” และ“สถานการณ์การดื้อยาต้านจุลชีพ ปริมาณการบริโภคยาต้านจุลชีพ และความตระหนักรู้เกี่ยวกับการดื้อยาต้านจุลชีพ” ณ ห้องแกรนด์บอลรูม โรงแรมรามาการ์เด้นส์ กรุงเทพมหานคร

โดยงานประชุมดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 2 วัน ตั้งแต่วันที่ 20-21 กุมภาพันธ์ 2563 โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อช่วยสนับสนุนและสร้างความเข้มแข็งของการประสานร่วมมือระหว่างหน่วยงานภาคส่วนต่าง ๆ และการดำเนินการในทางปฏิบัติภายใต้แนวคิดสุขภาพหนึ่งเดียว เพื่อสนับสนุนการดำเนินงานตามแผนยุทธศาสตร์การจัดการการดื้อยาต้านจุลชีพประเทศไทย พ.ศ. 2560-2564

ในการบรรยายของ ดร.นพ.วิโรจน์ ตั้งเจริญ ภายใต้หัวข้อ “Connecting the dots: Aligning evidence to policy I: คณะทำงานวิจัยนโยบายและระบบสุขภาพเรื่องเชื้อดื้อยาต้านจุลชีพของประเทศไทย (HPSR-AMR)” ดังกล่าว มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อถ่ายทอดบทบาทหน้าที่ของคณะทำงานวิจัยนโยบายและระบบสุขภาพเรื่องเชื้อดื้อยาต้านจุลชีพของประเทศไทย ซึ่งเป็นเครือข่ายนักวิจัยจากหลากหลายภาคส่วนที่ร่วมกันทำงานภายใต้แนวคิดสุขภาพหนึ่งเดียว โดยมีเป้าหมายเพื่อพัฒนาระบบการติดตามและประเมินผลของแผนยุทธศาสตร์การจัดการการดื้อยาต้านจุลชีพประเทศไทย พ.ศ. 2560-2564

ในการบรรยายของ สพ.ญ.สุณิชา ชานวาทิก และ น.สพ.ศุภภัทร คีรีวรรณ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อรายงานความคืบหน้าสถานการณ์การบริโภคยาปฏิชีวนะของประเทศไทย และความตระหนักรู้ในการใช้ยาต้านจุลชีพของประชาชนไทย ซึ่งหัวข้อนี้ครอบคลุมการติดตาม 3 เป้าประสงค์ของแผนยุทธศาสตร์การจัดการการดื้อยาต้านจุลชีพของประเทศไทย ในการลดการบริโภคยาปฏิชีวนะในคนและสัตว์ลง 20% และ 30% ตามลำดับ และเพิ่มความรู้เรื่องเชื้อดื้อยาและความตระหนักในการใช้ยาต้านจุลชีพของประชาชนไทย ร้อยละ 20 ภายใน พ.ศ. 2564

เมื่อวันที่ 22 มกราคม 2563 นพ.วิโรจน์ ตั้งเจริญเสถียรและคณะ จากสำนักงานพัฒนานโยบายสุขภาพระหว่างประเทศ (International Health Policy Program – IHPP) ได้รับเชิญเข้าร่วมประชุมเชิงปฏิบัติการเพื่อพัฒนารูปแบบการดูแลผู้สูงอายุใน 6 พื้นที่ ณ โรงพยาบาลท่าวุ้ง อ.ท่าวุ้ง จ.ลพบุรี โดยมี นพ.สันติ ลาภเบญจกุล รพ.ท่าวุ้ง และ พญ.ดวงดาว ศรียากุล รพ.เพชรบูรณ์ เป็นหัวหน้าโครงการ การประชุมทำให้เกิดการเรียนรู้ร่วมกันระหว่างคณะทำงาน 6 พื้นที่นำร่อง จาก 6 จังหวัด ได้แก่ นครราชสีมา, เพชรบูรณ์, ระยอง, ตรัง ลพบุรี และสระบุรี เกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์การดูแลสุขภาพผู้สูงอายุในแต่ละพื้นที่และการเตรียมความพร้อมในการดำเนินการให้เกิดรูปแบบการดูแลผู้สูงอายุแบบครบวงจร และได้รับข้อเสนอแนะในการพัฒนาโครงการจากนพ.วิโรจน์ ตั้งเจริญเสถียร และทีมจาก IHPP เกี่ยวกับการกำหนดโจทย์วิจัย การออกแบบงานวิจัย และการเก็บข้อมูล โดยมีเป้าหมายร่วมกันเพื่อให้เกิดการพัฒนาโครงการให้มีความชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้น เพื่อนำไปสู่การดำเนินการดูแลผู้สูงอายุในพื้นที่อย่างเป็นระบบต่อไป
