PMAC ON LAST DAY IN PATTAYA: 31th JANAUARY 2014

On Friday 31th January 2014, the last day of the Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC). In the meantime, PMAC’s schedule consistsof Synthesis: Summary, Conclusion & Recommendations by Lead Rapporteur Team. Those are Dr Jeffrey Johns, Dr Rudiger Krech, Dr Akikio Maeda, Dr Estelle Quain and Dr Viroj Tangcharoensathien (Senior Advisor and Secretary of International Health Policy Foundation) accordingly. Dr Akiko Maeda presented this session as PMAC 2014 in global context moving from HRH to learning. Then she explained the rapporteuring and all presentations are uploaded on the website: www.pmaconference.mahidol.ac.th. The conference themes have divided into 4 parts as Health system reform, Education system reform in Instructional and Institutional and Cross-cutting. Also, Dr Walaiporn Patcharanarumol as a rapporteur coordinator showed on the stage as well.
After Break, there is also provided plenary session 5 Reaffirming Commitment/Visioning the Future: Advancing Health Equity through Health Workforces Education, Training, and Development in Post 2015 Agendas and Beyond by 4 speakers as Dr Timothy Evans, Dr Marie-Paule Kieny, Dr Margaret Mungherera and Dr Rajata Rajatanavin. Dr Lincoln Chen play active role as moderator. This PL will reaffirm the commitment of country policy makers and institution leaders across both the health and education sectors to support a new orientation for health worker education and training. Finally, closing session came on theme “Recognition for Excellence in Health Professional Education” Award Presentation. Overall, most participants were satisfied with this conference management as well as experience and knowledge given by all health profession workers.


During afternoon session, Thai rapporteur team have finally discussed and shared knowledge of this last day of conference to each other. ​Dr Chaaim Patchanee was a volunteer to brief slide on Synthesis: Summary, Conclusion & Recommendations to all. The whole session spent around 1.00 hr for all great chance for participation on the conference. Last but not least, Dr Weerasak Putthasri and Dr Walaiporn Patcharanarumol thanked all rapporteurs, supporting team and all for great contribution and good collaboration on this event.
