Thai global health experts join the Chatham House Meeting during 8-9 October 2012 The IHPP senior advisors joined the first meeting of the Working Groups on ‘Moving towards Universal Coverage: Identifying Sustainable Methods

for Improving Global Health Security and Access to Health Care’ held by the Chatham House Centre on Global Health Security, London, the UK during 8-9 October 2012. This meeting aimed to foster new and independent thinking on moving toward universal coverage and generate proposals for reform that will carry weight with international and national policymakers. The two high level Working Groups members composed of 27 global health experts have participated in this meeting.

During this two day high level meeting, the IHPP senior advisors made a substantive contribution to the productive work of the Working Groups. Dr Viroj Tangcharoensathien chaired the Working Group I on ‘WHO and the International System’ whereas Dr Suwit Wibulpolprasert actively participated in discussion of the Working Group II on ‘Commitments to Sustainable Financing: A Need for a New Model ?’
