The Side Meeting of Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) 2014

The Prince Mahidol Award conference (PMAC) 2014 on “Transformative Learning for Health Equity”. The conference will take place during 27-31 January, On Monday 27th of January 2014 a side meetings was held in Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall,

Chonburi. There were 30 side meeting in this conference and also AAAH was host to organize side meeting on the topic “The Path to Capacity Building and Networking for Research in HRH: Perspectives from AAAH Member”. This meeting has a key persons from International health Policy Program attended this meeting.

Dr. Suwit Wibulpolprasert, senior consultant of AAAH, given welcome speech to all participant “HRH is important for health system a key of success a network is naturally working together through various activities in order to sustain the value of the network” and Dr. Viroj Tangcharoensathien is also play a role of chair at the meeting as well and he think that the research is important for capacity building among AAAH members. The meeting included talks from Dr. Weerak Putthasri, Dr.Kridada Sawaengdee IHPP and Dr. Yojiro Ishii, Mr. Naoyuki Kobayashi form JICA, Dr.Pak Tong Chol from World Health Organization SEARO, Dr.Gulin Gedik from The World Health Organization WPRO and Dr.Phetdara Chanthala from The World Bank Office, Vientiane, LAO PDR etc. The meeting gave many useful opportunities to bring together researcher and key actors in AAAH member to exchange research and find out resolution also strong commitment among collaboration of AAAH member.

Great opportunity for us, U.S Agency for International Development (USAID) host a side meeting on “Global Strategy for HRH in the Post-2015 Agenda” in PMAC 2014.The meeting was closed meeting by invitation only. There were 40 participants attended. The meeting aimed to convene working groups around key topics which will drive the development of a re-vitalized strategy for HRH aligned with the achievement of universal health coverage and the post-2015 agenda.

Additionally, USAID invited Dr.Suwit Wibulpolprasert was appointed to be the co-chair of this meeting as he was the key person on 7 topics discussion regarding to a re-vitalized global strategy at 3rd Global forum on HRH in Recife, Brazil. This created a great deal of experience sharing between stakeholders and moved the strategy forward.
